CalypsoBCI: Industry Project

We are happy to partner with CalypsoBCI to offer a project on electronics and AR hardware development.

CalypsoBCI is a startup aimed at merging Augmented Reality with Brain-Computer Interfaces to deliver seamless, intelligent experiences. It was founded by a small team of neuroscientists from Uni Oldenburg working on a brain-computer interface (BCI) to control assistive systems. They are building a product based on their research and are currently incubated at their university’s startup accelerator. Their goal is to develop advanced BCI systems that integrates brain signals with other biosensors, enabling intuitive control in AR with enhanced context-awareness and hybridization. With their AR glasses, users can effortlessly interact with smart environments through brain-controlled commands.

They are currently preparing for the EXIST research transfer grant, which will fund the team’s salaries and product development once approved. Since their expertise is mostly in neuroscience and software, they are looking for students with electronics and AR hardware development skills to join their project.
